THE UNITED BRITISH COUNCIL FOR INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE
The United British Council for Integrative Medicine is an organisation founded upon the idea of bringing together the traditional health wisdom from around the world and integrating this wisdom alongside the innovative knowledge of modern medical research to take true understanding of health and medicine to a new level.
The UBCIM began by gathering together a council with expertise across multiple fields to bring this vision together.
UBCIM COUNCIL MEMBERS
Professor John Hopson – Chair
Professor Hopson began his health career in 1951 and has since trained and worked as a chiropodist, podiatrist, reflexologist, psychotherapist, homeopath, acupuncturist, herbal medicine practitioner and many further CPD courses upon health. Professor Hopson has also tutored many complementary therapies and sat upon various organisations as a council member or chairperson, including The British Complementary Medicines Association, chair of The Reflexologists Society, Chairman of The General Natural Practitioners Association and many others. Professor Hopson has also been invited and worked within several charitable and medical orders.
Now Semi-retired Professor Hopson runs the Hothsonian Foundation for advanced holistic practice and works within the Order of Knights of St John the Baptist.
Professor Steven Russell – Vice Chair
Professor Russell began his studies of medicines in 1967 and has not stopped studying since, Professor Russell is an eternal student and seeker of deeper truth, he has studied and taught in multiple fields of medicine throughout his career focusing of natural and appropriate medicines for his patients. Professor Russell is well versed in Herbal medicines, Homeopathic medicines,Nutritional medicine, Psychological medicine, physical medicine Trauma medicine, oriental medicines and bio energetic medicines, he is versed in a full range of diagnostic methods and works on both animal and Human patients. Professor Russell taught the knowledge of General Natural Practice in his College the Restoratory for over 27 years.
Now Semi-retired Professor Russell now focuses on teaching advanced CPD courses and writing health publications.
Dr Benjamin Palmer – Council Member
Doctor Palmer is a Doctor of Oriental Medicines and the current President of the UK Chapter of the International Alchemy Guild, he has his personal focus on learning and combining medical philosophies and practices from multiple traditions and passing on this knowledge to his students to try and ensure traditional secrets are not lost.
Dr Palmer is currently the Director of 5E Wellness Lab in Northampton, where he works as a traditional medicines consultant, meditation teacher and lecturer in Alchemical and Chinese Medicines.
Dr Mauroof Athique – Council Member
Doctor Athique is a Doctor of Ayurvedic Medicines, President of the British Ayurvedic Medical Council and Chairman of the Ayurvedic medical Association. Dr Athique has also practiced as a nurse and taught nursing in the UK, he has also studies homeopathy and acupuncture and he has published many works on Ayurveda and health care. Doctor Athique was also the Research guide at Westminster University when they ran their Ayurveda MSc.
Dr Athique is currently the course director at The College of Ayurveda and treats patients at his clinical locations in Milton Keynes and London.
Dr Mohammed Salim – Council Member
Doctor Salim is a Doctor of Unani-Tibb Medicine, President of the Guild of Unani Tibb, Guild of Naturopathic Iridologists and the International Register of Consultant Herbalists. Dr Salim is trained as a master herbalist, as well as an Osteopath, iridologist and nutritionist, he has published several papers on Islamic medicine and hosts lectures around the world including several educational documentaries on UK and US TV.
Dr Salim currently focuses on his work as president of the College of Medicine and Healing Arts in Leicester as well as work with the many organisations he belongs too.
Dr Tamdin Bradley – Council Member
Doctor Bradley is a Doctor of Tibetan Medicine and a founding member of the British Association for Traditional Tibetan Medicine, Dr Bradley is registered with the central council of Tibetan Medicine and studied under the personal physician to his holiness the Dalai Lama, she was the first Tibetan Medicine Doctor to permanently reside in the UK, She has a published book “Principles of Tibetan Medicine” an co=authored “The Buddha’s Art of Healing”.
Dr Tamdin currently treats patients in several clinics around the UK as well as across Europe, while also focusing on her Arura Tibet natural cosmetics product range.
“Bonny” Casel Melendy – Council Member
Bonny has 32 years of experience as a practitioner and teacher of Naturopathy and Western Herbal Medicines. Bonny is the Founder of the School of Natural Medicine UK and is an experienced course developer for natural medicine and its related fields, She has taught and written courses across the US and UK. Bonny is also a tutor member of the British Flower and Vibrational Essences Association as well as a member of seven other membership organisations.
Bonny Currently works as President of the school of Natural Medicine UK in London.
Dr Sebastian Melczynski – Council Member
Doctor Melczynski is a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine that has worked as a clinical instructor taking newly qualified acupuncture students and guiding them through the consultation process and getting them ready to open their own clinics by instructing them in patient/practitioner interaction. He has also spent years teaching Kung fu and studying and experimenting with Chinese and European Herbs.
Dr Melczynski currently focuses on seeing patients at his clinic in Corby.
